He
was speaking on the backdrop that the NFF did not give the coach, Stephen Keshi
enough support. He disclosed that they showed commitment by giving incentives, motivation
and exposure to the players through organization of several friendly matches.
Inyama
claimed that the Eagles played 10 friendly matches enroute to the African Cup
of Nations, AFCON which they won recently in South Africa.
According
to him, the friendly matches are: Botswana, Zambia, Angola, Liberia, Egypt,
Peru, Niger, Venezuela, Catalonia and Cape Verde.
“These
paid off handsomely with a number of home boys shining brightly in South Africa,
and one of them scoring the crucial winner against tournament favourites, Cote
d’Ivoire and the goal against Burkina-Faso that gave us the trophy,” he added.
He
however disclosed that the executive committee and management of the NFF have
put the triumph at the African Cup of Nations behind them and fully prepared
for the challenges ahead.
