Sunday Mba once again proved that he is a
player to rely on when it comes to the big stage. His goal in the 40th minute on a Sunday was
enough for Nigeria to lift its 3rd trophy after 19 years.
The 24-year-old Warri Wolves of player also scored the winner in the 2-1
quarterfinal win over Ivory Coast. The Eagles denied Burkina Faso the
opportunity of lifting its first ever AFCON trophy, having progressed beyond
the group stage for only the second time at the African championship.
However, Burkina Faso will be remembered by
soccer followers who will be leaving South Africa with their heads held high
after a wonderful run to the final.

Meanwhile, the win is coach Stephen Keshi 2nd
AFCON, winning it first as a player when he captained the Super Eagles of Nigeria
in 1994. He became the second player to win the tournament as both player and
coach after Egyptian coach, Mahmoud Al
Gohari.
