NSE commissions state-of-the-art Engineering centre

The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) yesterday commissioned a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence for Engineering Practice.

The institute, Engineering Practice & Resource Centre (EPRC) which was set up last year is to serve as the training arm and capacity building platform for the Society.
President of NSE, Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, who, cut the tape to signal commencement of full-time operations of the Centre, said the EPRC has been mandated to provide and deliver the best of industry skills and knowledge to all cadre of engineering personnel, through qualitative training aimed at providing specializations and continuing professional education.

According to him, “The scope of operations envisioned for the Centre is such that it is expected to operate as a global entity, hence the decision to establish a Governing Board to run its affairs as an autonomous body.

“In line with its expansion plans, opening of other branches of the Centre will be replicated all over the six geo-political zones of the country within a short period of its establishment.”

Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Engr. Olufemi Bamiro, is currently serving as the pioneer Chairman of the Governing Board of the EPRC. 

The Engineering Practice & Resource Centre which is dedicated to the memory of a former President of the Society, the late Engr. Mustapha Bulama, FNSE, OON, is partnering with MIDAS Information Technology Company Ltd. and International Energy Services Limited (IESL) to deliver training and resource development for Engineers and other professionals in Nigeria.
