FCDA warns against unlawful pasting of posters, others

The Department of Development Control, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) has warned residents of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who deface the city with posters, banners and billboards to disease from it or be ready to face the penalties.

This warning was given by the deputy director of Aesthetics and Amenities, Arc. Adamu Abuja in his office yesterday.

He said the pasting of posters, billboards and banners indiscriminately is mostly caused by political & religious bodies, and it has posed a great challenge to city management.

Arc Abuja said that removal of posters by the Department has been on for long to the extent that a pressure machine has been acquired to enhance the removal process.

He also explained that proposals have been made on the need to penalize & punish defaulters who mount posters, billboards & banners without approvals.

The deputy director however advised intending advertisers to obtain approval from the Development Control Department or have their billboards removed as well as stand the chance of being penalized when the law takes effect.
