The federal government has reiterated its commitment to complete the long
abandoned Bodo-Bonny road and bridge, which is necessary for land crossing to
the Nigerian Liquidified Natural Gas (NLNG) Plant across the ocean.
This assurance came when the Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen,
received a delegation of the Executive Management Team of the Nigerian
Liquidified and Natural Gas in his office, led by the Managing Director, Mr.
Babs Omotowa.
The Minister stated that the Nigerian Liquidified and Natural Gas (NLNG)
is a very important depository of the hydro-carbon elements in the country
which require road and bridge infrastructure positive implication for Nigerian
socio-economic growth.
Arc. Onolememen reminded them that the NLNG is a partner in progress for
infrastructural development in the country and that the administration of President
Goodluck Jonathan is also very much interested in the Bonny project and will
give it the required support, adding that the road would also be of immense
benefit to the Bonny communities.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Mr. Omotowa recognized the sterling
efforts of the Minister in the several interventions on the road sector and
also solicits for his visit to the NLNG plant in Bonny.
He listed some achievements of the organization to include ownership of
24 ships provision of 50,000 metric of tones of cooking gas to Nigerians and
provision of pipe borne water to the Bonny community.
Among those in attendance at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary,
Dr. Abubakar Koro Muhammed OON, Director Federal Highways, Engineer Bala
Danshehu and some directors from the ministry.
