Lulu in a match situation |
Former president
of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and Chairman of FOSLA Academy, Alhaji
Sani Abdullahi Lulu said his desire is to see that his academy becomes the best
in the world.
He made this
assertion at the just-concluded Copa Coca-Cola final held at the Tundun Wada
Secondary School in Abuja last Friday.
Lulu, whose team
won the final by 2-0 against Yimi Secondary School, Zuba said, “Our target is
to be the best in the world and make Nigeria proud anywhere we found ourselves.
It is going to be a collective effort not only Sani Lulu.”

He however
revealed that the essence of setting up Fosla is not to identify players that
are half-made in the secondary schools but to discover them at a tender age
from their primary school days.
His words, “I identify
them raw at primary school level maybe in future we will give consideration to
other age categories. The thing is that the more government makes commitment to
grassroot development, the better for the society. This is what we try to
achieve when we had the opportunity to serve but now we are trying to do that
at the grassroot. It is the best for this country now that we are trying to
transform.”

The former FCT director
of sports however disclosed that they won the tournament because of their
preparation. “The victory is unique; I give glory to Almighty God. We won not
because we played better but because we planned very well and we are focused. “The
most important motivation is our collective presence; the boys are well
motivated in the monetary aspect. We are committed to the objective of
uplifting the country, so they are ready to play for their community; they are
ready to play for the country, that is why you see the love and passion in the
way they play.
“However, the concept
of the project is to identify players from the grassroot. I will not feel
satisfied until these boys get what we set to actualize,” he concluded.
