Kano State set to enter Guinness World Book of Record

Kano state is set to make the Guinness World Book of Record as the league with the highest number of registered teams in the state division 1 league which kicks off on Monday.
About 217 teams have registered to participate in this year’s state league; this is considered arguably the highest number of team and the biggest in Africa and perhaps the world over.
The teams in Division one is divided into 35 groups and match pass done on Monday at the Sanni Abacha stadium signaled the start of the new season.
Chairman Kano State Football Association, Alhaji Rabiu Sheriff Inua popular called Ahlan confirmed that the stage is set for another beautiful football season in Kano state. "The stage is set, preparation are in top gear. We have done everything necessary and I'm sure the teams are just waiting for the blast of whistle to show the stuff they have."
Ahlan maintain that Kano state remains the home of football in Nigeria as demonstrated by the followership and attendance at league venue. "I must tell you, Kano is number in football development in this country. We're working very hard on development of the game here; I'm sure in no time all that will manifest."
Records have shown that Kano state has over 1,000 registered football teams which is yet to be beaten by any other state in Nigeria.
