Badminton: Nigeria Beat Mauritius To Keep Hope Alive

Nigeria's hope of winning the ongoing Africa badminton championship got a big boost on Monday as the team bounce back from opening day defeat to South Africa.
The Nigeria badminton team lost her opening game 2-3 to host South Africa but the team kept qualifying hopes alive defeating Mauritius by the same score line in the team event.
The duo of captain Gideon Babalola and Clement Okrobapo won the men's double while Dorcas Adesokan and Momoh Zainab also won the women's double.

The tie breaker was Dorcas's victory in the women's single after Clement and Zainab lost the mixed double and Gideon couldn't win in the single. Thus, the 3-2 victory over Mauritius was hard-fought.
Nigeria will play Algeria in the last group game on Tuesday. A win for Nigeria will see the country progress to the next round in the team event.
