The
Nigerian Society of Engineers has chosen the Federal Capital Territory, FCT as
the venue of its Annual General Meeting and Conference to be held between 9th and
13th of December 2013.
This disclosure was made by the
president of the Society, Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu during the
conferment of 69 of its members at the first Quarterly Dinner in Abuja.
Engr. Shehu disclosed that the NSE
Council agreed that this year’s conference should focus on the theme:
“Strategies for Transforming of the Agriculture and Water Resources Sectors of
the Nigerian Economy.”
He however urged all its members to
work towards the conference to make it a success. The last AGM and Conference
took place in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Meanwhile, the NSE president also used the avenue
to confirm that the World Federation of Engineering Organisations, WFEO has
given the Society the nod to host the World Engineering Conference next year,
between November 2 and 7, with the theme “Development of Sustainable
Infrastructure in Africa.”
