NFF chase journalists from secretariat

Amaju Pinnick, NFF president

This is definitely not the best of time for the sports journalists in the federal capital territory, FCT as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF is hell-bent at frustrating them.
During a visit to the Glass House as the secretariat is fondly called, your sincerely saw a notice preventing journalists from entering until 3pm. The message reads: THE MEDIA IS NOT ALLOWED IN UNTIL 3PM, SIGNED MANAGEMENT and from a reliable source, they only some of them to enter by the time.
An insider confided in our reporter that they are targeting some journalists who they felt are not reporting the NFF in good light. They are also afraid that those visiting the secretariat might be exposing their excesses to the public.
One of the reasons why the management is not happy because our correspondent reported that staff were being forced to contribute money to buy credit to power the secretariat.
A reporter who preferred anonymity for fear of victimization disclosed that the NFF is acting out of ignorance because the world football ruling body, FIFA will not do such to the media.
According to him, “After the footballers, the media is the next that is well-respected because they believe that football is a media-game.”
This is not the first time they are chasing journalists out of the secretariat.
It will be recalled that few months after assumption of office, the Amaju Pinnick-led board ordered the journalists out of the secretariat hence they were forced to converge under the tree at the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC car park.
