Jisalo, minister of FCT with other APC supporters |
As
2019 elections draw near, politicians have started pitching their tent where
the pendulum will favour them and probably return them to their seats.
Former
chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC and presently member
representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal House of
Representatives, Honourable Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo is also not left out.
Jisalo
was reported to have decamped to the ruling party, All Progressive Congress,
APC to salvage his seat in the coming elections.
A
close source to the House of Representatives member who confided in our
correspondent disclosed that if Jisalo does not do the needful, that is decamp
to APC, he might not get the ticket of the main opposition party, People
Democratic Party, PDP and even if he wins the primary, he is not sure of his
victory at the poll against an APC opposition.
Jisalo
remains one of the few members who hardly contribute to debates on the floor of
the house.
A
resident of Abuja, Solomon Jafaru claimed that Jisalo is not eloquent and is timid
hence cannot express himself that is one of the reasons why he is looking for
where he can hide himself couple with the money he allegedly embezzled while he
was AMAC chairman.
Recalled
that Jisalo’s defection came in the early hours of the business day on the
floor of the House of Representatives, when the Speaker, Honourable Yakubu
Dogara read his letter. In it, Mr Jisalo cited division and leadership crisis
within his former party, the PDP.
One
of the people who were on ground to welcome him into the APC is the minister of
the FCT, Mohammed Bello.
